The generous spirit of sponsors, underwriters, auction donors, and honorary committee members promises a brighter reality for San Diego County's abused, neglected and abandoned children. Voices for Children's President/CEO Sharon M. Lawrence explains how the organization constantly strives to do more. Lawrence said, "We need more money to serve more kids. Starry, Starry Night is our largest fundraising event and it has become key to raising awareness and bringing our community closer to the work we do. After hearing the stories of tragedy, perseverance and success despite all other odds, our guests begin to understand that these children need to have a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) to guide them through the foster care system. We hope they will support us in whatever way they can."
Voices for Children launched their signature event seven years ago to raise money to help the estimated 6,000 abused and neglected children in San Diego County's foster care system. Tickets are available online at www.speakupnow.org. |
