child-bench.jpgIn San Diego, the Child Abuse hotline gets approximately 4,000-7,000 calls every month of suspected abuse or neglect. From these calls and other sources, an estimated 150 children each month are removed from their home-some with only the pajamas they were wearing at the time. Sadly, only about 60% of these children will be reunited with their parents. They will join the roughly 6,000 children in San Diego County's foster care system. We cannot ignore these children who have been forgotten by the vast majority of our community.


San Diego's abandoned and neglected children desperately need you. The following articles will offer ideas as to how you can be a part, truly a partner, in ensuring that foster children who have become dependents of the San Diego County Court will have the caring, focused attention of a volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate, CASA, looking out for them during their time in foster care. Helping those who can't help themselves can lead to personal and emotional fulfillment. Help stop the crisis in child abuse.
