Program Supervisor

Voices for Children is currently seeking an experienced, mature professional to assist in the supervision our Court Appointed Special Advocate ( CASA ) volunteers.  This is a full time position, 40+ hours per week and will include some evening hours and weekend hours. Primary responsibilities include offering support and supervision to CASAs, including attending court hearings, treatment team meetings and IEP meetings when necessary, editing and approving written reports to the court, keeping detailed and accurate case notes, updating case information in the agency database, participating in the screening and selection of volunteers, facilitating support groups, conducting training for incoming volunteers, and furthering the mission of the agency. 

The ideal candidate possesses a B.A. in a related field and has several years of experience in volunteer management and/or in social services.  Knowledge of the foster care system and special education law preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must. The starting salary is in the mid 30,000’s with full benefits.

Case Assessment Volunteer Coordinator

Voices for Children seeks an experienced, mature professional to assist with our Case Assessment Program as a Volunteer Coordinator.  This is a full time position, 40+ hours per week and will include some evening hours and approximately one Saturday per month.  The Volunteer Coordinator’s primary responsibilities will include providing support and assistance to the CAP Program Manager, ensuring that the needs of the CAP volunteers are met and that the volunteers are satisfied, participating in the recruitment and training of CAP volunteers, ensuring that dependent children overseen by CAP receive the advocacy they need and ensuring the smooth operation of the juvenile courthouse offices.

The ideal candidate possesses a college degree but may be substituted with at least two years of experience in volunteer management, social work, case management, program development or related field in the public and/or non profit sector.  Knowledge of the Juvenile Court system is preferred.  Must be willing to work in a team environment and must have access to an automobile for local travel.  Valid California driver's license and automobile insurance required.  The starting salary is in the low $30,000’s with full benefits.
